Identity

Gotha was founded in the nineteenth century by German settlers and kept a village scale that the surrounding growth never absorbed: narrow lanes, mature oaks, a historic cemetery and a school at its centre.

Location and access

Between Windermere, Ocoee and MetroWest, near Hempel Avenue and SR-408 access.

Everyday life

Quiet and residential; retail and services are in the neighbouring areas rather than inside the village.

  • Yellow Dog Eats, in the historic village core.
  • Gotha's historic streets and cemetery.
  • Lakes and conservation land in the surrounding blocks.

Housing

  • Homes on larger lots, many custom-built.
  • A mix of older properties and recent rebuilds.
  • Few HOA communities compared with nearby areas.

New construction

Custom homes on individual lots; there is no room for large phases.

Getting around

Car-based, with SR-408 and the Turnpike reached through neighbouring roads.

Honest trade-offs

What you accept when you choose this area.

Trade-offs

  • Very limited inventory; comparables are scarce.
  • Well and septic systems exist on some parcels — verify.
  • Services require driving to adjacent communities.
